day number one.

Today was my first full day in St. Petersburg and I confess, I am feeling a little bit lost in translation!  I walked around the city a bit with another American (who’s proficiency in Russian is very fluent) and I took just a few photos to post – it was very cold.  Tomorrow I will go out again and try to find my way around a bit more and go grocery shopping so I can cook.  For now, it is time for bed!

  1. Lindsay, Awesome!! Thanks for starting your on-line journal and journey! I love the pics. Russia has such awesome architecture and wow..lots of snow! Stay warm and safe. Pleasant dreams. Love, Brenda

    • Hi Brenda – thank you so much! I am going to try to keep up with it regularly and write some more detailed entries, but I am feeling a bit tired currently and so I did not want to write much yet 🙂 St. Petersburg has gorgeous architecture – I could’ve taken many photos today, but I felt a bit overwhelmed! Will be in touch and remind me to send you my address – I will be where I am at least until the summer, and then I may need to find a new apt. Good Night!

  2. Lindz! I love, love, LOVE, that you are doing this online journal. Your pictures (as always) are also so sooo beautiful. I’m glad you got there safe. Was praying for you! ❤ ❤

  3. Hi Lindsay.

    Glad you arrived safely!
Beautiful pictures, let’s have more, but mainly we want your personal impressions of your new St.P., the people and tha daily life.
Don’t get jealous, but I believe we have more snow than you do, and we are about to get slammed again.
Do enjoy your stay, and please let us enjoy it with you.

Cheers from a very wintry Connecticut,
    Ernst

  4. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! Keep up the excellent work.
